Titans are the name used for the exo-suits of the Krang in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles continuity.

History

Approximately one thousand years prior to current day, the Krang attempted an invasion of Earth. They rode in Titans, specialty giant exo-suits designed for combat. The Krang, along with their exo-suits were sealed away in a prison realm by four Japanese warriors.

At some point, Oroku Saki came upon a dying Krang inside what eventually became known as The Crying Titan, and received the Kuroi Yoroi. The Crying Titan leaked Empyrean, mutating the local populace into yōkai. Because of its significance in the genesis of the yōkai, The Crying Titan became revered as sacred by them.

In present day, the Foot Clan, who worshipped the Krang, opened a portal to the prison dimension and freed the last three known living Krang. Each of them summoned their own Titan with its own unique design.
